Our President and CEO, Allen Stephen, was born and raised in the Dayton, Ohio area. He received his BS degree in Computer information systems from Central State University and his MS in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance and management, from Central Michigan University. Prior to establishing CompTech Incorported, Allen amassed over 25 years of experience in system engineering and systems integration, data warehouse design, database migration and implementation, software development, inventory management and logistics, and supply chain management systems. As CEO and President, Mr. Stephen has emerged a proven leader in the Information Technology industry through ambition, innovative solutions and his demand for attention to providing exceptional customer service and outstanding value to our clients.

ISO 20000 Certification
ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011

ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 is an international IT standard that allows companies to demonstrate excellence in IT management. The standard provides guidelines for companies to achieve evidence-based benchmarks to continuously improve their delivery of IT services. ISO/IEC 20000 was originally released in 2005 based around the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) best practice framework, and then updated in 2011.

ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 is a service management system (SMS) standard. It specifies requirements for the service provider to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and improve an SMS. The requirements include the design, transition, delivery and improvement of services to fulfil agreed service requirements.The adoption of ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 has grown quite rapidly in the international arena of IT service providers and has become a competitive differentiation for companies delivering IT services.

ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 can be used by:

organizations seeking out service providers in search of assurance that their service requirements will be fulfilled;
organizations requiring a consistent approach from all its service providers, including supply chain;
a service provider intending to demonstrate capability for the design, transition, delivery and improvement of services;
a service provider needing to monitor, measure and review its service management processes and services;
a service provider improving services through the effective implementation and operation of the SMS;

ISO 27001 Certification
ISO/IEC 27001:2013

CompTech was recently appraised and certified as having in place an ISO/IEC 27001:2013 compliant Information Security Management System (ISMS). The ISO 27000 family of standards helps organizations keep information assets secure. Using this standard helps CompTech manage the security of assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to you by third parties. ISO/IEC 27001 is the best-known standard in the family, providing requirements for ISMS.

What is an ISMS?

An ISMS is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information so that it remains secure. It includes people, processes and IT systems by applying a risk management process which can help small, medium and large businesses keep information assets secure.

Like other ISO management system standards, certification to ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is possible but not obligatory. Some organizations choose to implement the standard in order to benefit from the best practice it contains while others, like CompTech, decide to get certified both to reassure customers and clients that ISO recommendations have been followed, and to commit the company to the concept of continuous improvement through maintaining the standards.

The State of Ohio recognizes the need to encourage, nurture and support the growth of economically and socially underutilized businesses to foster their development. The EDGE Program provides an “EDGE” to small businesses by Encouraging Diversity Growth and Equity in public contracting. EDGE is an assistance program for economically and socially disadvantaged business enterprises. EDGE establishes goals for state agencies, boards and commissions in awarding contracts to certified EDGE-eligible businesses. An EDGE participant must be a business enterprise located in a qualified census tract or, the business may qualify if the owner meets the established program criteria for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

Along with the MBE/EDGE Research and Reporting Unit, this unit is responsible for helping implement the state’s procurement preference programs for socially and economically disadvantaged businesses, which are the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity (EDGE) programs. This unit certifies businesses into both the MBE and EDGE programs, helps maintains a list of MBE- and EDGE-certified businesses, and ensures that certified businesses are in compliance with the programs.
